I rang Mrs E-W this morning (the lovely lady in the photo), having not seen her for 3 months and her first sentence was… “Paddy! I’m still doing my exercises everyday. When can we meet again? I’m itching to get back”.
I have heard nearly every excuse under the sun for not managing to workout, for not making a session, for not having done one’s best, for not being able to start a fitness programme until a few months down the line, etc., etc. Don’t get me wrong, this is only human and I have used my own fair share.
Mrs. E-W is an example to us all that it’s never too late and that no excuse is sufficient if we want it badly enough. Mrs. E-W called me two years ago to start her exercise programme and since then, despite having had the odd set-back, has got back in the saddle and taken those reigns right back every time. Every day she does something, no matter how big or small. She once pointed out to me that there are 86,400 seconds in a day. It’s you who decides what to do with those seconds. Make every second count and think twice before making an excuse.
To give less than your best is to sacrifice your potential.
