We all look very different, so why should we all train the same?
Whether you are trying to get in shape after having a child, attempting to run your first marathon or want to build muscle, Paddy will create a fully customised training programme to suit your individual needs and lifestyle. Swiss Ball and Pilates ![]() Having been introduced to these methods when Paddy was rehabilitating from a long-term rugby injury, he has since gone on to study them in depth. Nowadays, people are constantly talking about the need to have a strong core but what does this mean and how can we achieve it? Your core is often described as the body's 'powerhouse', the centre of your body's stability and balance. A strong core is essential to effectively execute everyday movement patterns, such as lifting, reaching, standing and walking. Having poor core stability can lead to poor posture, inactive or 'lazy' abdominal muscles and lower back pain. There are numerous ways to strengthen your core stability, however Paddy has developed a series of exercises fusing the use of pilates principles and a swiss ball. They are supremely effective and force the body to use key stabiliser muscles which control balance and movement. In merely a few sessions, Paddy will show you a number of exercises that can be done at home. These exercises will leave you feeling and looking better than ever before. Group Training ![]() If you would rather exercise with colleagues or friends than exercise on your own, then Forever Fit can help. Paddy organises fun and effective training sessions for you and your friends at places of work, on the beach, in the park and even at your home. If you are looking to get in shape in record time - perhaps to good in your swimming costume for the summer - Paddy can arrange a 5 times or 3 times weekly Bootcamp. This is a new concept, involving a range of training methods from resistance work to boxing fitness and has proven extremely popular in recent months. If you work in a company, group training with Paddy is a superb team bonding initiative and will ensure you and your colleagues feel fitter, healthier, more mentally alert and revitalised for coping with the stresses of office life. Contact Paddy today to discuss how group training could work for you and your friends. |

Weight Management ![]() If weight management was simple, we would all be at our ideal weight. You need only see how many diet and fitness books exist to know that one size does not fit all. However, losing weight is not rocket science! Basically if you don't burn off what you put in, you will gain weight. A question that everyone asks is "How quickly can I lose weight?" There is no precise answer here, as everbody adapts differently to a change in diet and exercise and everyone's metabolic rate is different (the rate at which your body uses energy). You can forget the South Beach Diet, the No Carbs Diet, the Blood Group Diet and start living healthily! From experience, Paddy has discovered that the key to successful weight management lies in fusing an active lifestyle, a healthy balanced diet of protein, good fats and low glycaemic index carbohydrates (at the right times) and a large dose of willpower! When people begin to lose weight and start to look in the mirror and receive compliments, their motivation to continue increases dramatically! The most difficult step in making a change is always the first. Paddy's logically simple, yet motivating approach to weight management through exercise and nutrition has proven extremely effective for many of his clients. Paddy suggests clients keep a food diary to record current eating patterns. Subsequently, a nutrition plan is drawn up for the client to follow, based on consultation and individual parameters such as age, weight and basal/ active metabolic rates. Paddy can also travel to the supermarket with you to make sure you are making the right choices with the weekly shop. Paddy not only instructs you but teaches you how to live a sustainably healthy lifestyle, in order for you to maintain for yourself, your optimum weight.

Strength Training ![]() Through working against an opposing force, muscular size and/ or strength can be increased. This is the very essence of strength training. However, strength training is not only about lifting weights and increasing muscular mass. As has been proven scientifically many times, certain strength training, when performed properly can be more effective than aerobic exercise in fat loss and more effective than any other exercise in improving the body's core stability, without increasing muscular size. Throughout Paddy's rugby playing and running career, he has seen and used a vast array of effective (and some not so effective) methods of isotonic and isometric training. From free weights, including kettlebells (as used by many celebrities, including Lance Armstrong, above left) and dumbbells; to resistance bands and cable machines; to body weight and plyometric exercise; the body can be worked in many different ways to target specific muscle groups. Whether your goal is to build muscle in key areas or firm your whole body, Paddy can help you achieve it, through a detailed knowledge of the varying techniques and applying them to your specific requirements. Running ![]() Paddy has always been a running fanatic. Since giving up his running career to pursue professional rugby, Paddy has successfully trained a vast number of clients; from learning to run, to realising their 'marathon dream' or optimising their running technique. Paddy can test your current level of fitness (maximum oxygen uptake - VO2max) and subsequently set out a step by step programme to improve it. There are many ways in which this can be done including the use of interval training, hill sprints, parachute, wind or continuous running. If your goal is to complete a race without walking or to improve your time for a specific distance, Paddy can help you get there, through progressive and varied running sessions - not just by going out and running continuously! Whatever your goal may be, Paddy can give you expert advice and help you achieve your goal quicker than you ever thought possible!
